*Sept. 14-22 - 200 Years of Transportation in Monroe County at National Guard Armory

OCTOBER
Oct. 16-18—Battle of Tompkinsville at “Harlan’s House” Capp Harlan Rd.
Oct. 17—Blue and Gray Ball 
Oct. 22—"Old Time Homecoming Days" AutumnFest & Parade

Planned Event Details: 
*Long Hunters Rendezvous - March 27-28
A living history event with everyone in period attire,
using period tools & equipment and performing period activities.

*Pioneer Days​ May 13-15
An interactive event allowing participants to get
"hands on" experience in some 18 activities: 

​tacking a quilt, working leather, shelling corn, making brooms/candles/butter/soap/cracklins etc. To be 
held in the exhibit hall of the Monroe County Fairgrounds. 

*A Celebration of Quilting Heritage in Monroe County
June 11 - 13, 2020  at Old Mulkey State Historic Site​
Monroe County's fabric artists are second to none.
From the earliest days of settlement, when absolutely everything needed
to be re-used, Monroe County women (and a few men, these days)
have devoted themselves to the designing and creation of these labors of love. Many quilts are created to mark family milestones. Some are auctioned for community benefit or to help a neighbor in need. 

Quilt Crazy: Celebrating a tradition that just keeps getting better
*One Room School Reenactments June 13 & 19
To be held at the Boyd One Room Schoolhouse
on South Main St., Tompkinsville and presented by
​the Monroe County Youth Theater

*Tim Lee Carter Exhibit - July 12 - 25
This is an Old Mulkey Bicentennial week long Event
partnering with WKU special Collections Library
and Kentucky Museum 
creating an exhibit
focusing on the life and work of Monroe County native,
physician and long-time U.S. Representative Tim Lee Carter.

*SAR Grave Dedication - July 18
A "wreath laying ceremony" will take place at Old Mulkey State Historic Site with a 21 gun salute, with speeches
​and participants clothed in period attire.

Monroe County "Roots" Virtual Genealogy Fair - July 18
To be held Online
with noted genealogists on hand 
to discuss
family research. See flyer on right

*200 Years Monroe County on the Move - Sept.
A partnered event between Old Mulkey,
the National Corvette Museum and the local car club 

to be held for one week at the National Guard Armory
on Armory Dr. in Tompkinsville.
